Tolls in Florida

In Florida almost every expressway is a toll road, and most don't take cash. Charging is done by camera or by transponder. It's different from what visitors are used to and it catches almost everyone by surprise.

You have two options with AZ

1 Use the car's transponder

All our vehicles have a transponder installed. You go straight through, without stopping, and we pass on the tolls you used.

2 Avoid the toll roads

In Waze and Google Maps you can turn on "avoid tolls". It works, but it usually adds time to the route — in Orlando especially going to the airport and to the parks.

Careful: if you enter a toll road without a transponder, the charge turns into a fine — and the fine costs far more than the toll would have.

What it costs

You pay per day until you hit the cap. From there, usage is unlimited for the rest of the rental — no matter how many toll roads you take.
