Returning is as simple as picking up: you park, send a photo and board. Three things prevent any surprise.

Leave the car at your airport's spot Always in the public parking (regular parking) — never in the "rental car return" area. AZ doesn't operate there, and leaving it there delays the check.

At all of them: public parking. Never the "rental car return" area.

You have 4 hours of grace beyond the scheduled time. Go well past that and a late return fee kicks in — if you know you'll be late, just tell us beforehand and we adjust it.

When the deposit comes back

The deposit was never a charge — it's a hold on your credit card limit. The money never left your account; it was only reserved during the rental.

On return, once the car has been checked, the hold is released and the limit becomes available again. There's no refund to receive, because there was no debit.

How long until the limit shows as free in your app depends on your bank, not on AZ — each issuer processes the release on its own schedule. If it goes past what your bank says is normal, talk to us and we'll confirm from our side that the release was done.

You can. Returning in a different city from pickup has its own price, which varies by route and direction — and it goes into your quote before you book, never after.

If the idea came up during the trip, talk to us before returning: we confirm the amount and adjust the contract.

You can, and it's simple — but tell us before the return day. We extend the contract and you keep the same car.

Once the return has happened, extending becomes a new booking, subject to availability and the price of the day.
